The man seems like an interesting character so you decide to stop and chat with him. This would be a good time to practice your French, too. You exchange words for a few minutes and he tells you about more interesting places in Paris like the underground catacombs, the Sacred Heart Church, and the Moulin Rouge. He points you in the direction of the landmarks and you thank him for his time and information. He leaves and you go into the Notre Dame Cathedral. Immediately you are amazed at the architecture and the enormous size of the building. You take you backpack off of your back to get your camera. You notice its already open! That's weird. You look for your camera, but its not there, and a majority of your money and credit cards are gone too. You realize the man you had talked to was a partner in a pick-pocket scheme. As you were talking to him, his partner was going through your belongings. You become depressed and start heading back to your hotel room. At the hotel you book the earliest flight back to the United States. Looks like your trip in Paris has come to a quick end.
